Get to Know Me…

Ashland, WI

My name is Mike! I grew in Wisconsin hunting and fishing. Currently I am employed as a public lands forester in Northern Wisconsin where I have the privilege of assisting in stewarding over 180,000 acres of public lands. My wife also works in the public sector as a soil scientist with the US Forest Service. I have 3 bird dogs; 2 setters and a Weimaraner. I spend most of my fall chasing upland birds locally and across the country. I converted to lead free ammunition about 10 years ago with the urging from my wife about the toxicity concerns for humans in the deer we eat and the what is left in the woods. I have since become a big believer in using lead free ammo as part of my ethical hunting approach to knowing my target and beyond.

Favorite Caliber

20 gauge and I shoot a 300 Blackout suppressed rifle so I can shoot subsonic loads to protect my hearing while deer hunting.
