Get to Know Me…

My name is Armond! I lived all over before moving to Wyoming in 1990. I was an engineer for 35 years before I retired in Jackson. I currently split my time between Veteran, Wyoming and Bondurant, Wyoming. I have been hunting for over 50 years. I chase big game, upland birds and waterfowl. All of the big game I have shot in the past 10 years have been with non-toxic ammo. I started using Barnes bullets for elk and moose 35 years ago. I eventually switched to them for all big game. I use non-toxic shot for all my bird hunting.

Favorite Caliber

My favorite shotgun cartridge is 10 gauge, because it is the biggest shotgun cartridge that is legal.  Late season, when the geese are suspicious, nothing works better.  

My favorite cartridge is .454 Casull.  It is based on the .45 Long Colt, a classic western cartridge.  At one time it was the most the most commercial handgun cartridge.  It is a handful to shoot when using full power hunting loads, but is very fun and very accurate with target loads which are less than full power.  

Fun Fact

I enjoy the challenge of exploring new locations for hunting.  I have hunted in 13 different states, and 5 Canadian provinces.
