Get to Know Me…

My name is David! I am a avian and restoration ecologist based in Northern California. I have been a lead-free hunter for the past decade (since I moved to CA for my undergraduate studies). I primarily hunt wild birds (upland), some waterfowl, and small game with the occasional wild hog taken each year. I primarily study raptors and ground nesting grassland birds, as such, I have seen firsthand the negative impacts that lead can have on wildlife and at the same time, can speak to the feasibility of using non-lead ammunition to put food on the table and take game in an ethical manner. I am also a falconer so I have a vested interest in keeping toxins out of the environment for the benefit of my personal hunting birds.
