Scott Ball
Get to Know Me…
Missoula, MT
My name is Scott! I grew up in Eastern Washington and started fishing with my dad and grandpa when I was old enough to hold a fishing pole. I started hunting with my dad when I was eight years old, harvested my first grouse when I was nine and my first deer when I was ten. I now live in Montana with my wife and four lab-mix dogs. I am passionate about hunting, and I strive to learn as much as I can about it. I love passing on knowledge to a new generation of hunters. I have been hunting lead-free since 2018. I also am a hunter and bowhunter education instructor in Missoula county. I am also the Missoula county lead hunter education instructor. My true passion in life is not only hunting, but helping teach future generations ethical practices to expand hunting and keep hunting alive.
Favorite Caliber
My favorite caliber (on paper) is a .284 Winchester, though I’ve never gotten the chance to own one, it looks like it was well ahead of its time. My favorite personal use caliber is the trusty old .270 Winchester.
Fun Fact
I was the 2025 Montana Hunter Education Instructor of the Year.
