Rob Bryan
Get to Know Me…
Harpswell, ME
My name is Rob! I'm a lifelong New Englander and have been hunting and fishing for over 50 years, mostly in the Northeast with occasional forays to the West. Now mostly retired after a career in ecological forestry and wildlife habitat management, I have more time for outdoor pursuits, which in addition to hunting and fishing include cross country skiing, multi-day canoe trips, hiking, and landscape painting. I’ve been active in the local chapter of Backcountry Hunters and Anglers since it was formed in 2014 and have been passing on some skills and conservation ethos by mentoring new hunters whenever possible.
Favorite Caliber
7mm-08. First time I used it was on a Maine moose hunt in 2011. That was also my first kill with a copper bullet. One shot to the lungs and it went down almost immediately. Have gotten another moose with it since then, and deer almost annually.
Fun Fact
I'm mostly retired from a career in ecological forestry and wildlife habitat management and currently working to improve my skills as a landscape artist.
