Dylan Hughes
Get to Know Me…
Madison, WI
My name is Dylan! I was born and raised in Wisconsin, where I’m an avid target shooter, licensed falconer, and licensed wildlife rehabilitator. My grandfather introduced me at a young age to the beauty of early mornings on the water, fishing rivers in upstate New York and Wisconsin. Conservation and a reverence for the outdoors are deeply rooted in me. Reading the works of Aldo Leopold, Frances Hamerstrom and Rachel Carson cemented in me a drive to contribute – no matter how small – to leaving our outdoors a richer place for future generations. Squirrel hawking with a Red Tailed Hawk, watching the circle of life at its rawest unfold, up close and personal, is one of the most humbling experiences you can have in nature. These opportunities made me appreciate what all raptors go through to survive. Understanding this, as well as the toxic effects lead has on the wild food chain, and in humans, is what motivates me to educate and bridge conversations about Sporting Lead-Free.
