JANUARY

California Hawking Club Meet (California)

Ambassador David Krawitz-Greenspan hosted a table at this local meetup. He chatted with about 200 people over the course of the week.

FEBRUARY

Western Hunting & Conservation Expo (Utah)

SLF Staff Nathan & Bryan took SLF to SLC and spoke to over 1,100 people throughout the weekend.

Kootenai Valley Gun & Horn Show (Idaho)

Ambassador Scott Struhs tabled for SLF alongside his business, Gem State Firearms, to educate fellow firearms enthusiasts on the benefits of switching to lead-free. He chatted with about 200 people throughout the weekend.

Pheasant Fest (Minnesota)

SLF Board members, Conservation Partners (Wisconsin Sharp-Tailed Grouse Society) and Ambassadors (Mike Amman) came together to tackle Pheasant Fest this year. Collectively, the team chatted with about 100 people.

MARCH

Sandpoint Gun & Horn Show (Idaho)

Ambassador Scott Struhs once again hit the gun show floor with fantastic info and expertise on lead-free ammo. He chatted with about 100 people on lead-free shooting.

Mule Deer Days (Wyoming)

SLF Staff members Bryan & Nathan set up shot at Mule Deer Days again this year. They reached almost 400 new people with lead-free messaging.

Montana Outdoor Expo (Montana)

SLF Staff members Gray & Nathan spent some time in Helena this spring at the Montana Outdoor Expo. For a small show, the turnout was impressive and the team spoke to almost 800 interested and enthusiastic attendees about the benefits of switching to lead-free.

Arizona Game & Fish Outdoor Expo (Arizona)

Ambassador Jason Ceola tabled at the two-day event in Phoenix and spoke to about 300 people.

Region 5 Montana FWP Hunter Ed Training (Montana)

SLF Director Bryan gave a presentation to 80 volunteer hunter safety instructors for the Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks Region 5 program.

APRIL

Matsu Valley Outdoor Show (Alaska)

Ambassador Travis Booms coordinated with our Conservation Partners, Alaska Copper Ammo Challenge, to table up in Alaska. This show was big, with over 10,000 people in attendance, and they chatted with about 850 people about switching to lead-free and the incentives available in Alaska for people who do!

Northern Arizona Conservation Expo (Arizona)

Ambassador Mike Dearden tabled at the one-day affair in Sedona, where he chatted with more than 200 interested individuals and was invited to speak at additional events in the future.

Fairbanks Outdoor Show (Alaska)

Ambassador Travis Booms coordinated with Conservation Partners, Alaska Copper Ammo Challenge, again to show up at yet another big Alaskan expo. With another 10,000 people attending, the team spoke to over 800 people again!

Discover WILD New Hampshire Day (New Hampshire)

Ambassador Rob Bryan had the opportunity to talk with over 50 enthusiastic hunters and anglers, with a good number being youth sportsmen and women.

MAY

Women’s Hunter Ed Class (Montana)

Ambassador Sydney Young taught an all-women’s hunter education course in Montana this spring using SLF educational materials. All eight women passed and are ready to hunt consciously this fall!

Lead-Free BHA Pint Night (New York)

Ambassador Lauren Tonti hosted a lead-free BHA Pint Night in Ithaca and had great conversations with 15 people who are now committed to switching to lead-free!

Montana Youth Shooting & Outdoor Expo (Montana)

Ambassador Amanda Andreas spent the day teaching kids in Montana about lead-free alternatives. Starting them young is the best way to do it! She had the opportunity to educate 150 young minds on the benefits of lead-free ammunition and tackle.

Eco-Fair (Wyoming)

Ambassador Armond Acri tabled with staff member Meg for a fun day in Jackson. Together they talked to 130 conservationists on the pros of switching to lead-free sporting.

June

Wyoming Wild Sheep Foundation Expo (Wyoming)

SLF staff members Nathan & Gray tabled in Casper and chatted with 70 interested hunters and anglers.

TOTALS

Halfway through the year, and the SLF community has chatted with 5,563 people about the benefits of switching to lead-free, a 70% increase over last years numbers. Within those numbers, ambassadors were responsible for 57% of our outreach. We’re proud of the community we’ve built and grateful for our team — conservation partners, ambassadors, and staff — for everything they’ve done to make this event season possible!
